Dear family,
And it came to pass that in the first week in the land of Guatemala, I dwelt amongst the Latino people. Peace, peace be unto you for i hath survived the great and dreadful day of the volcano. For behold I thrusteth in my shovel and cleaned the temple grounds. But behold my labors caused me to catch the flu. But verily verily I say unto you my soul hath been redeemed from the gall of bitterness and bonds of diarrhea.
Translation:
My first week in the MTC or CCM we got our Latino roommates the day after we arrived, none of them speak english so it's hard to understand each other but we get along great. I survived the volcano that erupted in Antigua, which the end result was a lot of service hours. There was a ton of ash everywhere. Just a little insight on what I mean, there was 1,000 dump truck loads of ash hauled off the airport runway. I got sick from working in the rain and I got the flu. I'm better now though.
Please write back, let me know how things are going at home. I love all of you (and) the church is true.
Love, Elder Johnson
P.S. My english is already getting messed up.
Well I wrote the letter on the front before p-day so I have more to write now. Right after I got rid of the flu I caught a cold, and I'm still sick with it. I went to the temple for the first time today..... it was all en espanol I was like a deer in the headlights. Well that's all.
Love Elder Johnson
